The Daily Scroll

“Jesus wanted to spend more time with his disciples and teach them. He said to them, “The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of his enemies. He will be killed, but three days later he will rise from the dead.” They didn’t understand what he was saying, however, and they were afraid to ask him what he meant.” (Mark 9:31-32)

How often have we read a passage in the Bible and did not understand it, or did not want to understand it? Some teachings are hard, especially in this modern day world of loose morals and sin. Do we find ourselves afraid, as the disciples were, to ask the Lord the true meaning, the deeper meaning, of a scripture? Particularly if it condemns us of sin? Don’t fall into the trap of self imposed ignorance. The Bible is plain and simple if we take it at face value. The modern world will twist the words of God to fit the morals of the day. And to fit the will of man. Take the better path and submit to the teaching, the simple truths of the Bible. Truth is not up for vote. – gene
