God is so good and greatly to be praised.
“Once again you will have compassion on us. You will trample our sins under your feet and throw them into the depths of the ocean!” (Micah 7:19)
So, what do I have to do with a war half way round the world, one might ask? And what do I have to do with violence in the city where I live? We see horrible acts of violence and crimes being committed all around us. But what about us? What do we do? We take responsibility for ourselves and those under our charge. We can’t control the world but we can control ourselves for we know better. The Bible says,
“O people, the LORD has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6:8)
Judgment against Oppressors
“What sorrow awaits you who lie awake at night, thinking up evil plans. You rise at dawn and hurry to carry them out, simply because you have the power to do so. When you want a piece of land, you find a way to seize it. When you want someone’s house, you take it by fraud and violence. You cheat a man of his property, stealing his family’s inheritance. But this is what the LORD says: “I will reward your evil with evil; you won’t be able to pull your neck out of the noose. You will no longer walk around proudly, for it will be a terrible time.” (Micah 2:1-3)
When God saw what they had done and how they had put a stop to their evil ways, he changed his mind and did not carry out the destruction he had threatened.” (Jonah 3:10)
Sin does bring on the judgement of God, but repentance from Sin brings on the grace and mercy of God. Please…consider your life and accept the Grace of God which comes by the receiving of Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. – gene
